Keep your polos looking sharp and fresh with the right ironing technique. Follow these simple steps to maintain both form and fabric.
1. Iron While Slightly Damp
Polos are easiest to iron when slightly damp. If they’re already dry, lightly spray them with water.
2. Use Medium Heat with Steam
Set your iron to medium heat and turn on the steam function. High heat can damage cotton or stretch the fabric.
3. Start with the Collar
Begin ironing from the underside of the collar, then flip and press the top side for a crisp finish.
4. Smooth the Sleeves
Lay each sleeve flat and iron from the shoulder to the cuff. Avoid creating creases along the fold line.
5. Iron the Body Last
Finish with the front and back of the shirt. Iron in sections and keep the fabric flat to avoid wrinkles.
6. Hang Immediately
Hang your polo shirt on a hanger right after ironing to preserve the shape and prevent new wrinkles.
Quick Tip:
Avoid pressing too hard—let the iron do the work to protect the shirt’s texture and weave.
